What we’re watching during lockdown

However you’re choosing to fill your evenings during lockdown, chances are that you’ve been using the opportunity to catch up on a fair bit of Netflix.

Already finished Tiger King and wondering what to watch next? We asked our colleagues at Indevho, Lindner and Apollo & Leonardo Hotels to let us know what’s big right now in France, Holland and Germany.

All of these highly-acclaimed shows are available to watch on Netflix UK or Amazon, so get your subtitles on and use your time in front of the box to brush up on your language skills too.

#1 Spiral

Spiral is a gritty French police drama set in some of the tougher districts of Paris. It stars Audrey Fleurot who also appeared in the recent British Netflix show Safe, and Indevho Hotels’ very own Hotel California makes a star appearance in later episodes.  Now into its 7th and final season, this award-winning production from Canal+ was first aired in the UK on BBC4 and all seven seasons are now available to buy on Amazon Prime Video.

IMDB: 8.5/10

#2 Undercover

Inspired by true events, Undercover is Holland’s very own answer to Breaking Bad. It’s set on a campsite in Limburg… stay with us… and features undercover agents Bob Lemmens and Kim de Rooij who pose as fellow campers in order to infiltrate a local drug kingpin’s operation. The show was originally aired in both Holland and Belgium and is now available on Netflix UK.

IMDB: 7.9/10

#3 Dark

Dark is, well… pretty dark. It comes all the way from Germany and both seasons one and two are now available on Netflix UK. Set in the town of Winden, this eerie plot-driven drama features plenty of disappearing children, wormholes, time travel and is centred around four estranged families as they come to terms with the strange happenings in their creepy small town.

IMDB: 8.7/10
