5 Blue Monday Escapes

It’s Blue Monday, so if you’re feeling a bit gloomy today and wishing you were somewhere warmer and sunnier, or just anywhere that isn’t the office, then you’re not alone. The third Monday of January is notoriously the day that most people feel the January blues pinch, and tour operators see a spike in reservations for last-minute escapes.

Here are five Blue Monday escapes from across our portfolio.

#1 Dubai

January is the perfect time to visit Dubai, with daytime temperatures rarely exceeding the mid-twenties. But even if you can’t fit in a last-minute trip, there is plenty to look forward to throughout 2023 including the relaunch of Ain Dubai, brand new wellness space Sanskara and the opening of Andalucian restaurant Leña, of Leña Marbella fame. Need an itinerary? Our partner Level UP can help with that!

#2 The Scottish Highlands

We’ll happily take a trip to Highlands at any time of the year, but there’s something truly magical about the place in winter with its snowcapped peaks and endless opportunities for winter sports and activities. There are lots of things we’d like to recommend, but our all-time favourite experience is a trip to the Cairngorm Reindeer Sanctuary, which is around 30 minutes from the Macdonald Aviemore Resort.

#3 The Seychelles

What could be better right now than escaping to the turquoise seas of the Indian Ocean for an all-inclusive escape in the Seychelles? Opened in 2021, Club Med Seychelles is one of the newest additions to the brand’s Exclusive Collection of 5 Trident resorts and is the only occupant to the island of Sainte Anne, set within a marine national park.

#4 Amsterdam

Amsterdam is one of the closest European capitals to the UK, and no wonder it’s one of the UK’s favourite places to escape to for a short break. There is always something new happening in the Dutch capital, and for some of our favourite recommendations and ideas of where to stay, click here

#5 Dublin

Another firm favourite with the UK market, Dublin is just as easy to reach as Amsterdam and just as much fun too. We’re heading to the Irish capital next month for our first fam trip of the year, together with the O’Callaghan Collection and A Taste of Ireland; stay tuned to see what we get up to.
